The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors appointed to the LIBRARY BOARD a guy who publicly destroys holy books.

You can read all about it in the Post. And at Loudoun Progress. And in the Post again. But here’s the crux of the matter: the all-Republican Board of Supervisors, who has reinstated Delgaudio onto the Transportation and Land Use committee, took his recommendation for an appointment to an irrevocable 4-year term on the Library …

First sentences

It’s way past the end of December when I normally do a “first sentences” post about the first sentence of the first post of each month for the year. But! Better late than never!

  • January: A thought on property rights.

This post contained just one sentence. Here it is.

“Why is it that …

Exercise for the reader

What can we do to get the people who turned out on Tuesday to come out for the off-year elections? If we can get the Obama voters in Sterling to vote in ’15, Delgaudio will be out on his ass.

How do we do it? Ideas needed here.

We’re being played, people

In the Washington Post article from yesterday about our suit:

Prior to the board’s Oct. 3 vote, York noted that a copy of Mateer’s complaint was given to Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney James E. Plowman (R) for review several months ago. Plowman in turn referred the matter to the commonwealth’s attorney’s office in Arlington County. …

I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore

I’m sick and tired of being completely stonewalled by the all-Republican board of Loudoun county after issuing FOIA demands for the records Chairman Scott York received in March from Eugene Delgaudio’s former staff aide.

Instead of providing the records as required by law, the Republicans have circled the wagons around one of their own, issued …

You Keep On Using That Word…

Eugene Delgaudio’s Number One Apologist, the increasingly embarrassing (and, we hope, increasingly embarrassed) Loudoun Times-Mirror has tried, yet again, to dull the edge of the vicious blade that is our Sterling supervisor. Their latest excercise in denial said this:

…watching the antics and tribulations of Loudoun’s Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling) has the makings of grand drama …

Something sure stinks, Geary, but I don’t think it’s the bugs

In my inbox today was this note:

“Geary sent out this update. I was SURE it had something to do with the Delgaudio matter. (“A couple of issues have come to my attention since my last newsletter. I thought it in order to send out a special newsletter instead of waiting the usual one-month interval.”)

Scott York demonstrates how look like you are responding, without being responsive

As I said yesterday, a close look at the Copy Teste shows that the “investigation” is disturbingly limited in scope. Accordingly, I sent this note to Scott York and Shawn Williams,

Dear Scott and Shawn;

I noticed that the investigation of Delgaudio is only looking into his treatment of staff aides as regards county policy. …

If you were wondering why Scott York was in such a rush…(or, How to Make an Investigation Part of a Cover-Up.)

On October 2, 2012, I sent this FOIA request to Scott York:

Mr. York,

This is a FOIA request, made under the applicable part of the Code of Virginia, for a copy of the complaint referred to (that is, “the complaint filed against Mr. Delgaudio”) in your public statement of October 2, 2012. The relevant …
