You can read all about it in the Post. And at Loudoun Progress. And in the Post again. But here’s the crux of the matter: the all-Republican Board of Supervisors, who has reinstated Delgaudio onto the Transportation and Land Use committee, took his recommendation for an appointment to an irrevocable 4-year term on the Library Board and did not so much as Google his recommendation. Or perhaps they did, and hoped we wouldn’t notice that the guy they just appointed to the LIBRARY BOARD publicly destroys holy books.
Now, the folks on the Board of Supervisors say they’re going to vote to reconsider, and I hope that they do reverse their vote. But, please, Supervisors, think about what this whole episode says about your board. Particularly think about what it says about your relationship with the Sterling Supervisor. You’re taking him at his word, reappointing him to committees, what next? Giving him his funding back? What did he do to regain your trust? And will you trust him with anything else?
